Rigid Sign Materials & Lettering Styles.

Choosing the right substrate depends on your installation location and desired aesthetic. Here is a breakdown of our rigid sign line-up and what they mean for your setup:

1. Panel & Board Substrates

• Aluminium Composite (Dibond): Our most used and recommended substrate. A lightweight yet ultra-tough panel featuring a dense polyethylene core sandwiched between two sheets of thin architectural aluminium. It will not warp, rust, or crack, making it the industry standard for external shop fascias, perimeter hoardings, and long-term exterior business signs.
• Aluminium Signs (Solid): Manufactured from 2.5mm or 3mm structural solid aluminium panels with a clean grey backing. Exceptionally rigid and robust, this substrate is specifically engineered for larger, post-mounted signs, highway markers, and road-facing advertising layouts that require high wind resistance.
• Foamex (PVC Board): A compressed, smooth plastic foam board available in multiple thicknesses (typically 3mm or 5mm). Offering an ultra-flat, bright white surface, it is highly cost-effective and best suited for interior safety signs, event display panels, exhibition backdrops, or sheltered outdoor menus.
• Acrylic Signs (Perspex): A premium, glass-like plastic panel that offers a high-gloss, ultra-modern finish. Commonly used for high-end office reception walls, corporate plaques, and sleek interior branding, it provides incredible visual depth. We apply the print directly to the reverse side of the clear panel, keeping your graphics completely protected from scratches and dust behind a smooth, glossy front layer.
• Fluted Board (Correx): A lightweight, waterproof corrugated plastic board featuring a hollow fluted inner layer. It is incredibly cost-effective, easy to drill or cable-tie to fences, and completely weatherproof. This makes it the absolute industry standard for temporary outdoor signage, including estate agent "For Sale" boards, construction site safety signs, and short-term event directional markers.

2. Dimensional Lettering Finish. Add depth and visual weight to your walls with lettering that physically stands out.

• Flat Cut Sign Letters: Precision-routed letters cut from premium 10mm flat-cut acrylic or composite sheets. Rather than mounting flush against the wall, these letters are fixed individually using hidden stand-off locators. This creates a stunning 3D shadow relief effect off the substrate behind, turning flat surfaces into high-end architectural focal points.

Protective Laminate Choices. Guard your branding investment against weather wear and physical vandalism: Although our inks are waterproof we would always recommend having a laminate to protect the print.

• Gloss Lamination: A crystal-clear, high-shine top coat that enhances color depth and vibrancy, making high-resolution photographic graphics stand out sharply.
• Matte Lamination: A sleek, non-reflective coating that eliminates harsh sun glare and reflections. It ensures text remains highly legible from long viewing distances and multiple angles under natural daylight.
